Assessing the Performance of Economic Enterprises under Environmental Standards

This academic book examines how economic enterprises can evaluate and improve performance while complying with environmental standards. It defines the enterprise and its internal and external environments, then explains environmental standards and their legal, technical, and policy foundations. The book reviews environmental management systems—especially the ISO 14000/14001 family—and links environmental performance indicators to managerial tools such as dashboards and the Balanced Scorecard. Overall, it argues that modern performance assessment must integrate financial results with measurable environmental outcomes, risk management, and continuous improvement.
