This General Genetics Course comprehensively overviews genetic principles and inheritance mechanisms for second-year Natural and Life Sciences students. The course covers molecular genetics topics such as DNA and RNA structure, replication, transcription, and translation, alongside classical genetics including Mendel’s laws and gene mutations. It also examines gene regulation, chromosomal abnormalities, and extra-chromosomal genetics in organelles. Divided into two main sections—molecular and fundamental genetics—the curriculum equips students with essential knowledge to understand how genetic information is stored, expressed, and transmitted in diploid organisms.
