Abstract

Considérée à la fois comme un équipement public et un espace d’apprentissage, l’école participe à l’organisation des villes et des territoires. Cet ouvrage examine les étapes qui conduisent de l’identification de la demande scolaire à la planification, à la programmation architecturale et à la réalisation des établissements. Il présente les acteurs, les instruments et les décisions qui structurent la production scolaire, puis analyse leur évolution dans le contexte algérien. Une attention particulière est accordée aux écarts entre l’offre et les besoins territoriaux, notamment en matière de capacité d’accueil, d’accessibilité, de restauration, d’équipements et de sécurité. L’ensemble propose une lecture articulant urbanisme, architecture et politiques publiques.

Considered both a public facility and a place of learning, the school contributes to the organisation of cities and territories. This book examines the stages leading from the identification of educational needs to school planning, architectural programming and the construction of educational facilities. It describes the stakeholders, planning instruments and decisions involved, then considers how these processes have evolved in Algeria. Particular attention is given to disparities between school provision and territorial needs, including enrolment capacity, accessibility, school meals, facilities and safety. The book approaches these questions through the connected perspectives of urban planning, architecture and public education policy.
